How do I get the full 20,001 points for a sweep using the Bird Vector Network Analyzer?

The BNA100 and BNA1000 sweep point capability is dependent upon the number of channels and traces the software user interface is configured for. The more channels and traces the interface needs to support, the fewer points that can be selected. The options and points capabilities are as follows:

• 1 Channel, 4 Traces = 20,001 points
• 2 Channels, 4 Traces = 20,001 points
• 4 Channels, 16 Traces = 10,001 points
• 9 Channels, 9 Traces = 3,201 points
• 12 Channels, 6 Traces = 3,201 points
• 16 Channels, 4 Traces = 3,201 points
• 16 Channels, 16 Traces = 1,601 points

Use the function buttons to navigate to System->Misc Setup->Channel/Trace Setup.

Then choose from any of the options presented.

You will be then be notified to restart the software/firmware. 

To do so, simply close the VNA software interface then re-open. You will then find that you are able to adjust your points count to the max allowable for the channel/trace selection you made.
