Presently, it is a known issue that the Series 5000 sensors may not connect on a Windows PC when using the VPM3 software. You will find some articles in our FAQs about upgrading firmware, but this was primarily applicable in cases where the sensor model is older (>3 yrs) and not for newer items shipped. Further, this firmware upgrade will only then allow you to be successful when using VPM3 on Win7 systems, will only have limited support on some Win10 systems, and likely not supported on Win11.
Running the VPM3 software on systems where this is a problem will get you to the point where the dialog appears to be searching for connected sensors, but yielding nothing.
To date (October 2024), we are asking customers to instead use the free Bird RF Meter software to make the connections and measurements.
