Do I need a device or accessory to make a proper connection between my load and line section?

Persons looking to mate a rigid coaxial line (7/8", 1-5/8", 3-1/8", flanged, or non-flanged) may encounter a diagram similar to the following (found in the user manual):

 

OR....

This (or other) images may lead the reader to believe that if they order the load or the compatible line section that the additional coupling hardware (the bullet or coupling sleeve or clamping bands) are included. However, the manual also states the following:

Coupling kit options are found listed on the Bird website at RF Coupling Kits, and you will need to select the option(s) that best meet your application needs.
