What is a non-directional RF sampler?

4274-025 and 4274-050 are non-directional RF samplers designed to be used in a Bird 43 series wattmeters or other 7/8 inch EIA line sections.

Non-directional RF couplers provide a sample of the potential (voltage) that exists between the inner and outer conductors of the transmission line. Couplers within this class are not able to discern between the forward and reflected traveling waves within the transmission line.
